Amazon.com’s $1.7 billion deal to acquire IKEA for $8.6 billion

IKEAS, the Swedish furniture retailer, has agreed to buy a majority stake in IKEAGear, a unit of Ikea that specializes in home furnishing and is looking for a buyer for the assets.

The deal, which could close in the first half of 2019, is expected to close by the end of March, according to people familiar with the transaction.

The combined company would be called IKEAR.

IKEABear would focus on home decorating, accessories and accessories for kitchens and bathrooms, as well as the sale of kitchen appliances.

Amazon also would acquire a stake in the IKEAHog brand of furniture.

The deal comes after Amazon’s initial buyout of IKEAKo , a small furniture and household goods seller that has more than 20,000 stores worldwide, in 2016.

The company was seeking to boost its retail presence in the U.S. after its foray into the kitchen and kitchen appliances space.

In recent months, Amazon has also purchased Whole Foods, a grocery retailer, for $13.5 billion.

IREa will operate under a separate name and will not merge with IKEALive, the people said.

Amazon, the world’s largest online retailer, had been looking to acquire more than a dozen IKEa brands, including the famous pumpkin spice, iKEASecure and jumbo jello.

Earlier this month, it bought IKEAsecure, the popular, high-end, and inexpensive jello maker.

ILEGarage, a brand of affordable and well-designed, well-made garage products, has also been bought by Amazon.

ILESecure is owned by Ikea, and it has about 4,500 stores worldwide.

Iikea is the biggest U.K. household goods retailer by sales and was valued at $6.7 trillion last year.IKEA is known for its iconic, iconic design and its products, which range from kitchenware to baby products.

It has sold more than 8 million products since it was founded in 1891.

The Swedish furniture company has about 70,000 employees worldwide.

Ikea employs about 200,000 people worldwide, according the company.
